2023 Spring: Wiffle Ball

Wiffle Ball Division

  • Wiffle Ball Baseball is for girls and boys turning 4 years old prior to September 1st, 2023.  The focus is to introduce the fundamentals of baseball (throwing, swinging, fielding) in a fun, family friendly practice/game like environment.

  • Players will hit plastic wiffleballs off batting tees.  Metal bats are prohibited, and 24" foam or plastic bats are encouraged.  (Traditional yellow wiffle bats are too long for 4 year olds)

  • Wiffle Ball is typically held Saturday afternoon on Bechet Field @ Red Morton for about 60 minutes, once the older division Little League games are over.  25 minute team practice, followed by a 25 minute scrimmage with another team

  • Players in this division may request to be with a specific coach, neighbor, best friend, etc. The player agent must be notified and will make all reasonable requests if possible. 

  • Note: Parent/Guardian must stay for the events

  • Players will received a RWCLL Wiffle Ball Shirt and Hat

2023 Spring: Tee Ball

T-Ball Division

This registration is for the new players who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.  This is our introduction league for players 5 - 6 years old by August 31, 2023. 

All 5 year olds and first year 6 year olds must play T-Ball.

•  5-6 Years Old by August 31, 2023

•  One 45-60 minute Practice during the week

•  One 60 minute game on Saturdays once the season starts

•  Ball is hit off a batting tee

•  All players in the field

•  ~2 hours per week team commitment

 

Coaches needed:  As newer families join our community they often ask how to get involved in RWCLL.  To register to coach please click here to complete a New Coach Application.  Tee Ball Coaching is a ~ 2 hour commitment per week.

A-Ball Division (Coach Pitch)

This registration is for 6 year olds with a year’s experience in T-ball as well as all 7 year olds.

  • 6-7 Years Old   

  • 1 Practice during the week   

  • 1 game on Saturdays once the season starts

  • 10 players in the field

  • Up to 4 hours per week team commitment

AA Division (Advanced Machine Pitch)

This registration is for players moving up from A-Ball  Intro to Machine Pitch to our Advanced Machine Pitch League.

  • 8-9 Years Old   

  • 1-2 Practices during the week   

  • 1 weekday and 1 Saturday game once the season starts 

  • Pitching machines are used and pitched roughly at 35-42MPH

  • Roster batting

  • 10 players in the field

  • Up to 5 hours per week team commitment

2023 Spring: (AAA)

RWCLL AAA

This registration is for Players ages 9-11 Years old who want to try-out for AAA team. All players will be required to try-out and a draft will be held. If a 9 year old player does not get drafted to a AAA, he/she will be placed on a team in the AA Division.

The AAA division is designed for the player coming out of AA, or the player from last year's AAA that could use more experience with live pitching. Teams will be made up of 9-11 year old players.

  • 1-2 Practices during the week

  • During the regular season, expect 1 game during week and 1 game on the weekend

  • 9 players on the field at once

  • Year-End Double-Elimination Tournament

  • Players are eligible for selection to District and Superbowl All-Star teams

 

Note: All 9 Year old players will tryout this season. If they are not drafted on a team, or there is a reason to keep them in AA, they will be moved to the AA division.

RWCLL Majors Registration

This registration is for players ages 10-12 Years old who want to try-out for a Majors team.  All players will be required to try-out and a draft will be held.

The Majors Division will consist of teams made up of 12 players on each team.  Teams will be made up of 10-12 year old players. Any 12 year old player who does not get drafted to a Juniors team must be placed to a Majors roster.  The Majors draft will take place after the Juniors draft.  If a 10 or 11 year old player does not get drafted to Majors team, he/she will be placed into the AAA Draft.

  • 1-2 Practices during the week

2023 Spring: Juniors

RWCLL Juniors Division Registration

This registration is intended for players was affected by the Little League age change and moved from Little League Age 12 to 14 for the 2023 season. This division is played on a field slightly smaller than standard Juniors field: 54 foot pitching distance and 80 foot base path. Games will be played against other cities in District 52 with home games in Redwood City at McGarvey Field. Travel will be required on weeknights and the weekend to our neighboring cities for away games. The Juniors team will practice twice a week during the pre-season with one practice and up to two games a week once the season starts. This division also includes a double elimination tournament to end the season.
